I see solids...

It's a quiet Saturday morning at my house, and my iron's heating up, the washer is humming away, and I've already finished vacuuming for the day.  The boys are out having a "boy adventure" on a local war victory ship, and I've got the house to myself for some heavy-duty cleaning and some sewing time.

I see solids...

Did you whisper that to yourself, like Haley Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense"?  I did, when I started typing...but I digress...These lovelies are sitting on my ironing board, just waiting to become something wonderful for my partner in the For the Love of Solids swap.  I'm looking forward to some quality time with my sewing machine this weekend!  What about you?  What are your weekend plans?

    I'll be cleaning today and hopefully putting primer on our concrete steps that were just patched. I'm going to try to sneak in some sewing too!

    so jealous!! It is raining here- (which to me means sewing time)- although I have a houseful right now- and my 4yr olds think that they like to sit on my lap when I sew! Although I did sneak some time in the am- while everyone was still sleeping- gotta do what ya gotta do I guess!

    wow, good for you! that feels so good to get going and get things accomplished first thing so you can focus on more important things...like sewing! :)

    More Cathedral Windows and trying to find some batting for all my quilt tops that seem to be multiplying. Good problem, right?

    Oh, those look fun! I always love to see what amazing things you swappers come up with! This morning I am online trying to get our vacation planned, but hopefully once that is done I can get some sewing time in while my husband watches the kids. Have a great weekend!

    Excited to see what you will make, love this bundle.

    This weekend I am sewing, sewing, and more sewing :) Finishing up my pillow for the same swap (FTLofS), working on a charity quilt, working on my skill builder sampler block for the week, and maybe getting another bee block done for the 4 x 5 bee. ... lots of sewing :)

    Those moments were always BLISS to me: the house to myself, work = done and a project on the go!

    When I read the beginning of your post "I see solids," somehow I had the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?" rhyme in my head, so I heard, "I see solids looking at me." Then, when I got further down and read the part about the Sixth Sense, I realized how differently we were thinking about the same words! I'm not sure why I thought that was so funny! Can't wait to see your next project :)

    Solidly jealous. I can't get my two menfolk out of the house, it's a bloody disaster zone in here, and my brain's so cluttered from the mess I can't think to sew!

    And yet... here I sit on blogland. Sigh.

    Definitely thought of the movie when I read this title! Lovely stack - lucky you to have the house to yourself. I'm hoping for a bit of that over the next 3 weeks as I'm off work until after Labour Day (YAAAAAA!!!).

    Gorgeous solids, the colours are fab! I did my big cleanup yesterday in a frantic hurry before the kids playdate arrived so today is sewing time!! yippee!!
