Stained Glass Strings: A Simple Quilt Tutorial and Giveaway

I've got a mid-week treat for you! Check out the new Stained Glass Strings quilt I just finished...

Stained Glass Strings - Baby size

This little quilt was one of those projects I started when I had that uncontrollable urge to make something I could finish quickly. This simple little quilt was made using some simple string piecing with strategic planning to create a stained glass look. The block I used in this pattern can also be used to create many additional layouts as well, from zig-zags chevrons to stars.

And for the first part of your mid-week treat: I wrote a simple pattern for you all to go with it! Click here to download the pattern through Craftsy, and here to grab the pattern via Google Docs.

Stained Glass Strings - full frontal

I used some new-to-me fabrics for this project, Andover's new Textured Solids collection. I was curious about what they would be like after seeing them pop up online earlier this year, and the Andover folks were kind enough to send me some sample yardage to try out, and I have to say, I enjoyed working with these solids very much. They have a beautiful linen look to them, chock full of texture and visual interest, and yet piecing with them was very much like regular quilting cotton.

Trim, trim, trim!

The Textured Solids are a woven yarn-dyed solid, which provides the added texture. I love the added depth the texture gives, and the way it feels as well. The fabric drapes beautifully, and while still 100% cotton, it shrinks minimally, between 2-5%. There are 25 colors available now, and additional colors are in the pipline, as well as a metallic collection! You can find the Textured Solids in stock now at Fabricworm and Pink Castle Fabrics.

Textured Solids

And now for the best part about this mid-week treat - a lovely little giveaway from the wonderful people at Andover. Three lucky commenters will win a charm pack of Textured Solids to play with! This giveaway will be open until Sunday, September 29th at 11:59 p.m. EST, and I will share the winners on Monday. To enter, simply leave me a comment here about how many sewing/quilting projects you're in the middle of right now. To be fair, I'll start...at last count, I've got a total of 17 projects that are somewhere between cut fabric and some level of piecing. Yikes! Many of them are UFO's that need rescue! Now it's your turn...good luck!

  1. I love working with strings, your quilt is lovely. I am working on a Gumdrop quilt from the book Sunday Morning Quilts, the top is just finished and ready for basting. I have some Christmas placemats cut out ready to be worked on, and 3 quilts waiting in the wings to be started. Thanks for a fun giveaway.

  2. Your string quilt is a project that looks like a lot of fun. I currently have about six projects waiting to be finished but....the holidays are creeping up so I feel the need to start some that must be done by Halloween, etc. Some of my grands are veteran trick or treaters but some will be first-timers.
    Thanks for this give-away

  3. What a nice new pattern! If we don't count my two block of the month clubs, which I am a little behind on, I am in the middle of 8 projects. Several are really close to completion, though, so I am feeling pretty good about things! Thank you for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Seven! Which seems like craziness to me, but I'm working through it. Too many friends and relatives having babies! :)

    Love this mini!

  5. I am feeling smug that I only have 3 projects on the go and one of those just needs binding. But, there is always a but, I have about 15 lined up ready to start, fabrics pulled, bobbins wound all in their little plastic boxes waiting for C day ( cutting day) I like to keep all my projects boxed and only have 1 out at a time. This stems from finishing 2 quilt tops and realising that 2 blocks from each had migrated, lots of ripping and cursing.

  6. Beautiful quilt! Thanks for the tutorial! I have about 8 ongoing projects ;)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Eight, I think? I don't want to count too carefully :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. In the middle of six that I can think of, but I have several others just sitting that I'm not actively working on.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 6! Yikes I'd better get my bum off the computer and into the sewing room!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thank you. I thought it would be far harder than that!!! Excellent job.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thanks for the giveaway. I have about 10 projects started. I should really finish a couple of them for the holidays!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Beautiful! I currently have 5? ongoing projects. :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Love the look of the textured fabrics, and they look great in your quilt. I've only got about 5-6 projects on the go! Thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love the quilt, I've wanted to find a stained glass quilt. Especially a quick quilt that can take my mind off of the bigger projects I'm working on. I currently have 6 projects working right now.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 13...good thing I'm not superstitious. But I really need to get on those, some are as old as...holy cow, 9 years (in my defense, it's hand-quilting, with normal hand-quilting thread, my son's full size quilt...ugh.). Love your string quilt!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have 3 going at this point. I also have 2 more "ideas" in my head (I get so inspired at the change of seasons for some reason.) I love your quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Such a dramatic quilt ... beautiful! I have a mini quilt on the design wall that is nearly finished but I had stopped to make other things. I am ready to start a requested Christmas quilt for my granddaughter. Other than that, it's a pile of mending and clothing fixes (yuck).

    ReplyDelete
  18. What a great quilt - a quick count reveals I have 11 projects on the go!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Love this and on my list to start is a string quilt. However I I have at least 8 I should finish first!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Love the way it looks! I have three projects currently going. Thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Beautiful quilt! I have at least 10+ projects of all sorts started. My 1st to finish is a photo quilt for my sister who will be celebrating her 5th Anniversary in a few weeks, time to get my sewing room straightened and get started!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I LOVE this quilt! I have at least 8 projects I am working on at the moment and more to come. Thanks!

  23. Ohhh I wish I was working on a quilt right now instead I am makeing a patteren for a slip cover for my dineing room chairs ... none of the store bought patters are tall enoufgh...wide enoufgh...deep enoufgh!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lovely quilt! I have 6 on the go! Wasn't as bad as I was expecting! :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Okay...I've got to count them...I think it's seven but that seems way too low. I'm sure I'm just forgetting about five or six more to ease my brain strain.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I only have seven going on right now. But I am going to have to put them on hold as I need a Christmas Skirt. I know, another excuse to start a new project.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have about 10 projects going right now. Love your quilt. I better go get busy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I like the look of the texture on the fabrics. Your quilt reminds me of a kaleidoscope. I have at least three quilting/sewing projects (plus two knitting!)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  30. What a lovely quilt! I am in the middle of 5 projects, and there are several more that are long term in the waiting area, having been started but not being worked on at all for the moment...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love the stained glass look! I have only 6 quilt projects going, but that is a lot for me.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Great job, Elizabeth! I love the colour palette you chose. Thanks for the giveaway! I have about 20 projects on the go right now. Ooops! :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. The stained glass effect is very pretty!
Besides the projects stuffed away to be finished someday, I have five quilts in process, and bee blocks to make, and baby booties, and jewelry rolls for Christmas gifts.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love the way that textured solid looks.... I have probably around 10 projects that are anywhere from planned to cut out to partially pieced to waiting for borders to quilted and waiting for the binding. Yikes, that is a lot...time to get cracking!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Very pretty quilt, simple but effective. I was going to say that I have 3 quilt projects going, but that would be a lie. 3 quilt alongs, and 2 ready to sandwich and quilt, and one mystery that I really hate and not going to finish.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm in the middle of four, which is because I have a strict (ish) rule about not starting any new ones until these are finished (unless it's really, super awesome-enough to break my rules).

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've been wanting to give Textured Solid a try as well. If I pretend the dusty abandoned WIPs don't exist, I'd narrow it down to 14 current projects in the works.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i have a lot and i'm working on none of them right now. if i had to guess, 17 sounds about right.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I just have 1 current project! The textured solids are just gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have 5 current projects and one of them is basted so it is soon to be off the list.

    ReplyDelete
  41. really effective quilt - I love it! I have about 3 projects on the go - hoping to finish one tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh my! It's really unfair to make a girl count those up! But I'd say that I probably have between 25-30 projects that are somewhere in the process. I've been working on the UFO's but there are still a ton left!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks for the great giveaway! Technically, I'm only in the midst of 7 projects... but if you count all the "mental plans," I'm in the hundreds! :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Lovely quilt. I've taken a hiatus from sewing because I had twins, but every time I think of going back I know there's a pile of UFOs to keep me busy . . . at least 10 or 15 . . . eek. Thanks for the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Unfinished projects are my nemesis. Slowly working through the pile but the lure of trying something new always slows me down. Right now, 8, all in various stages.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have been avoiding an actual count! A quick inventory of my brain yields about 7.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Counting tops to be quilted, my list says 42. Yikes!! And no matter how hard I try, the number never seems to go down. I am just finishing the binding on one but I am not sure I counted the scrap quilt I started yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I got one of these charm packs, but wanted to say your quilt is so striking! very pretty!
And I don't really know how many in progress works there are! yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Love this design! UFO's - are we talking about the quilts piled up by my sewing machine or the ones put away for later? 4 in various stages of quilting and I don't want to think about what's to come yet.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Love the design. My goal is to complete ALL of the projects that I have started in various classes over the last two years by year end along with several charity quilts for our modern guild. I think that would be 15 and counting but the good news is that I completed two last week!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I would guess I have about a dozen projects going, some of them I'm truly working on and others haven't gotten any attention in a long time. Love your Stained Glass Strings!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I love the looks of this stained glass quilt....I only have 6 projects in various stages of work. I really need to quilt 3 of them but have been procrastinating doing that. I am working on 2 quilt tops and one wall hanging. Thanks for your blog...I love to learn new things...but alas that means I will be starting another project.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have no idea how many projects I have in the works. I would say at least a dozen and a half. Believe it or not, they do all get finished eventually. thriftstorecrafter at yahoo dot com

    ReplyDelete
  54. Beautiful pattern and fabric! I have only a few projects in the work phase right now, but about 20 in bags with pattern ideas waiting on my rotary cutter.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yikes! You mean you really want me to count them? Not sure I even WANT to know, so I won't count all the block of the months that I did while living in another state six years ago, and will only count the two quilts up on my design wall at the moment, plus my hand pieced hexie. And that pink and brown one. Oh yes, there is the flower baskets. And the butterfly

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hmm jsut glanced over at my stack and it looks like three at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I've got about 9 in progress! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I have so many! 13 tops that need quilted and/or backs, four tops under construction, as well as stack of fabric waiting their turn.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I have at least 8 projects in the works and 4 more I want to start. So, yeah, I need more fabric!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I actually just did a blog post chronicling all my UFOs (7) but may have failed to mention the low volume scrap quilt that I cut out about 10 pieces for and abandoned, the apron I started for a friend several months ago and the two "snack sacks" for my Etsy shop that are cut out and waiting to be sewn. AND THEN, perhaps, maybe, I made another quilt top. That would give me a grand total of nice even dozen.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I have about 30, Because I have a new Grandchild due in the end of Nov and I am making nursery items. Plus Christmas gifts that include cross stitching and finishing.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Off the top of my head....15. Yikes! Now I'm wishing I hadn't spent the last two nights sitting on the couch watching the Voice. :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I have three quilts going right now. And I want to start a fourth but I think I should finish at least one first!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm just getting back to sewing after a few years of having babies and no space. We have just moved to a bigger place and my baby is almost 4. I purchased fabric for a quilt the other day, so I guess (at the moment) 1.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I love the quilt! You are so nice to share your tutorial with us.
I don't do well with having multiple projects all going at once. I tend to keep one quilt as my "back burner quilt" - the one I work on when I don't have a wedding or a baby shower or something else pressing on my time. At the moment, I'm in the middle of a couple small baby items and one big quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hello,about 5:one crochet,one redwork,3 quilts!
    Thanks for sharing!

    msstitcher1948@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  67. This quilt is so neat! As for WIPs, not too many. I think only 2 that I've actually cut, but a few more that I have to start and finish over the couple of months. If you add in my knitting, the number grows quite a bit...

    ReplyDelete
  68. I've got 6 quilts ready for quilting, 9 blocks on the wall to be put together, working on some HST blocks for fun - and that's just the current projects. It doesn't count the projects in the cabinet and closet that I'm not wanting to admit to right now. Guess I'd better go sew!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I love this quilt top! I want to do one too. I have at least 6-7 projects in the in progress status, and probably 10 more on my to-do list, but that haven't actually been started yet. It's never-ending, is it? Thanks for the opportunity!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Love the quilt - thanks for the free pattern at Craftsy. I have 5 projects that I'm actively working on. I also have a stack of quilt tops waiting to be quilted, too, but I'm not counting them. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Around 8-10 quilts in various stages of doneness, plus 1 in the planning stage.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh, my, not enough fingers and toes to count all of mine. I also have about 15 teddy bears to make from shirts of deceased loved ones before Christmas, so had better be nearly done with preserving my garden produce so I can get back to my cave for sewing. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I have about 5 projects and 3 in the planning stage.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I can think of 7.. there may be more, but I should stop there!

    ReplyDelete
  75. i feel bad i only have three going right now. thanks for the giveaway

    ReplyDelete
  76. Let's see, I think I have 14, not including a couple that are still in my head and haven't actually started yet. If you count those, I have 17.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have 3 ongoing with 3 more planned with the fabrics bought. I felt like that was a lot but now I'm feeling better after reading everyone else's comments! :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. I organised the sewing room and counted them this morning - 7, and so many more planned!! I promised myself I won't start anything new until these are finished!! Thanks for the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'd prefer not to think about it too much, it might stop me from starting something new! I'm going to guess around 12. Thanks for the giveaway :-)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I have been exercising pretty severe self-control recently, and have one quilt project cut out, one shawl on knitting needles, and one sock half-done that may never get any further. There are dozens of projects living in my head, though, that I have accumulated supplies for.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I am working on one car quilt for myself but thinking about starting 8 other projects.... did you know that Christmas is around the corner???!!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm in the middle of pattern testing a couple things, a quilt basted and ready for quilting, and some fabric begging to be cut into :-)

    brookeali(at)Hotmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  83. I don't know how, but somehow I've caught up to only having 5 in progress projects. Love the stained glass strings! One of my in progress pieces is a string quilt, but it's completely different. It's interesting what a difference a change in fabric can make.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I have nine unfinished projects. I'll have lots of scraps when i'm done, so thanks for the string quilt inspiration!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I have 2 quilts in progress, and tons of other cross stitch, etc projects. Always something to do. 24Tangent@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  86. I only have about 2-3 at the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Such a unique concept! This is right up my husband's alley who loves Frank Lloyd Wright. I am in the middle of 10 quilt projects, but with that beings said some of them are for Etsy.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Only 11 - that I can remember. I thought it was much worse than that. :) Some of those are so ancient that I hardly count them anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I love this technique, and I am a great fan of yarn dyed fabrics. Right now I have four projects actually underway, and three more quilts lined up on the runway, waiting for take off clearance! I find that I like to make a two or three quilt tops then quilt them all at once, that way I get in the groove of free motion quilting it is easy to keep going!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I've got a zillion plans but actually started I'm down to just 1!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I can't. Really to admit means they are there. Really I have about 10 full quilts ready for whatever step

    ReplyDelete
  92. Do I have to count projects I've officially given up on and have no intention of ever finishing?

If no, I have 3 projects on the go. If yes, 4. But so many more planned.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Just one at the moment, but will be starting a couple with the kids in a few days.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Well, that depends on if you are counting quilts or everything =) I have 2 quilts at the quilting phase, a counted cross stitch that is 3/4 finished and a crocheted afghan that is one it's last ball of yarn.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Elizabeth, 6 in the works and fifty billion in the want to do pile. Lol thanks for the chance

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'd hate to think how many projects are in the works. I probably have at least 20 that are in some stage of completion. I have five that must be done by Christmas and one long term quilt along that I'm concentrating on now. The textured fabrics are lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I have three that are nearing completion and another that is just blocks. Another 5 tops are sitting on my cutting table, and a bunch of tops are in bins. I love the design and assembly process; the quilting not so much. I'm trying to change that.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Maybe my number isn't high, but how long some of these projects have been on my WIP list certainly is...7

    ReplyDelete
  99. Right now I have 4 projects I am in the middle of. Personally, I like to have several projects going-some smaller (table topper), some hand work (hexie quilt) and a bigger project( queen size quilt). I tend to get a little bored if I work too long (possibly just me) on a bigger project without a break--so a smaller quick project can get me psyched back up to work on the bigger project again.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Hm...I have two projects that need to be quilted and two that I've cut at least part of the fabric for. I don't have anything that I'm actively piecing right now, which makes me sad :-(

You're stained glass quilt looks great! Time to head over to Craftsy for the pattern :-)

    ReplyDelete
  101. I have only one ongoing project. I hate having UFO's laying around so I complete one project before starting another.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I have 8 projects at various stages from fabric and pattern selected and put in a project box, to a partially bound quilt. I think that's a lot for one who just learned to do piecing in January of 2012!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'm in the middle of at least 6 (I may have lost track).

    ReplyDelete
  104. I just started this year with quilting so I am in the middle of my first project.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I dont think I've seen a pattern like yours, its a new idea. I am working on two quilts one a whole cloth and one a wall hanging for my granddaughter for her 14 th birthday. I have 3 BOM's waiting to be started. I hand piece and quilt and would love the Andover solids to make a hand pieced quilt with as you see the quilting better.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I have 3 quilts and one cross stitch project. :) Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  107. I have about 11 projects going right now, but in my defense, 10 are quilt tops that need to be quilted when I get my new Gammill. They are baby quilts for our local hospital. I figured I will need a lot of tops to practice on. Thank you for the great pattern and giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I've got 4 etsy orders, 2 I spy quilts and a wall hanging that I'm working on and many more in various planning stages! I love this string block!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Oh, man... I can't believe you're making me confront my NUMBER! Ok, here goes... it's 14. 14 projects in varying stages of completion. 14 projects that painfully exhibit my short attention span! And I wanted to start a new project today..... I guess I wont, LOL! Off I go to work on one of the dreaded 14. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Love your pattern. I don't even want to try and count my unfinished projects. I pulled out one tub earlier this week and started working on them. I have one completely done and three others on the table in various stages. There are at least five more in this tub and I have three tubs. Plus I have four quilts with the blocks finished but not sewn together yet. I think I will stop listing because this could get really depressing....

    ReplyDelete
  111. Love your patterns and colors! I would love to see what the actual texture of these texture solids-- they look more than printed on, which is refreshing. Sigh... I have currently 13 WIP's, but let's say that 5 of them are active, and I have the others in line. I am hoping to get them all done by New Year's!

    ReplyDelete
  112. I am working on a few things including a quilt using Simply Color and Simply Style with the Sparkle pattern from Fig Tree and Co.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Looks like the current count is 20 (not including projects I've bought the fabric and not started, pillows, or other non-quilt sewing projects). And I'm getting ready to take two classes AND start two other quilts. Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  114. I have 7 in various stages. The one I am concentrating on right now is a t-shirt quilt for my oldest granddaughter who is a freshman at the University of Alabama. Her sister wants me to do one for her next, but that wasn't counted in the 7. Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net

    ReplyDelete
  115. Too many to count! I'll finish the ones I love and maybe cut the others up and use them in scrap/string quilts.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm like many of you, I have 10 project I'm working on. I like being able to work on different projects to match the mood of what I'd like to work on. Perhaps it cutting, sewing, or hand sewing the binding to finish a project! yoyopattycakes@hotmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  117. I would have to say.....too many!!!! Projects to complete piecing on - 4. But, then there are the completed tops that have to be quilted. Hopefully, by the time I get them completed, I will be a lot better at FMQ.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Oh my, I don't know what I would do if I had that many UFO's, right now I have 7 projects going and it seems like I am not getting enough finished but I am determined. Thanks for the give away I will gladly play and start another project! mburnette912@bellsouth.net

    ReplyDelete
  119. Well, I have 5 different quilt projects going right now and I am about to add another and I am also working on a big cross stitch too. So many to work on, but at least 3 of them have to be done by Christmas. Crossing my fingers

    ReplyDelete
  120. I have ... 1,2,3, ... counting, still counting ... 7 UFOs, and lots of ideas for more projects that I may never get to. Bummer. I love your stained glass strings pattern! (Add this to my ever growing list of projects I want to try.)

    ReplyDelete
  121. I have only 2 right now. Love the quilt and the colors.

  122. I have 5 quilt tops ready to be quilted, my granddaughter's quilt to help her bind, a niece's wedding quilt, unless she falls in love with something I already have and 4 Barbie musketeer costumes for various sized granddaughters for halloween. By tomorrow I have to finish remodeling my gorgeous granddaughter's 1st prom dress. And lots and lots of quilt ideas. So fun to always have another project. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Very cool quilt! I just have 4 projects going at the moment - who knows how long it will take me to finish them!! Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  124. I have 3 quilts in progress - and a prom dress for my stepdaughter to get started on.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm ahead of you on the UFOs and in-progress quilts. But then I had a head-start since I've been making quilts since 1976! So I'm going to say 21, but that might be a tad on the low side. Close enough. I expect to finish them all in my lifetime! Ha! Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I saw this show up on flickr, and it's stunning! I love the black sashing to give it that stained glass look. :) Hrm, number of WIPs: 16 ... I think? Oh man, I'm sure there's more hiding.

    ReplyDelete

  131. Wow! I love this concept! Always loved the stained glass look, and this is wonderufl. I wonder if I could work out a Frank LLoyd Wright stained glass window type quilt from this!

How many ongoing projects? Do you count the Lucky Stars? I have to do three of them to catch up! Need to finish my Dancing HOrses, And do the ones in your head count? Like the baby quilt for the play pen, Christmas tree skirts, and banners that need embroidering, not to mention those wall hangings that pop in my head. Am trying to discipline myself to finish before i start a new one! So for real--just one--and that's on hold until I finish the play pen quilt! And I think this one is it!

  132. I have way too many UFOs to count I think but currently I am finishing up the binding on a queen sized quilt for my daughter. The top was finished in May so this is not an oldie in any sense of the word but she is waiting, waiting, waiting!

  134. I just finished binding a quilt last night, but still have to do the label on it - so I guess it's still technically unfinished. I have 2 other UFO's right now and starting to cut for a new quilt tonight!

  135. Ermmm, I don't think I want to count, lol! There's at least 10 quilt tops in various stage of production, that much I know!

  136. I just have 2 projects working right now and 2 more right behind them ready to be cut out.

  137. I really really really don't want to ever have more than 5 UFOs!!!! I'm hand quilting a Marcelle Medallion (I give it a year), I'm halfway through another Marcelle Medallion destined to be king size, and one more out there - a Notre Dame quilt for a coworker. That is plenty!! The stained glass quilt is just lovely!

  138. I've got 11 "organized projects" that have been cut and semi-pieced!

  139. I have 3 quilts out, one on the frame, one on the sewing machine and one on the cutting table. Then I have about 7 tops in a bucket waiting in line to be quilted. Then there's the fabric in draws with the patterns that I will cut into next. Yikes!

  140. I am sad to say...I have 8 projects in the works. One is a large queen size quilt for my niece, 4 mini quilts for friends for Christmas presents, 2 Thanksgiving aprons, and a snuggle flannel quilt for myself. I have not made something just for me in several years. I thought it was about time to make something just for me. :) Thanks for the chance at the give-a-way. Yolanda in Cali

  142. I have so many projects in some step or another on their way to completion that I can't count them all. There are so many great things to do in the quilting world that I want to do them all, all at the same time. Thank you for this great giveaway.

Have a super great sewing and stitching day!

  143. 3 unfinished projects (1 finished quilttop that needs backing and quilting, 1 finished pillow top, 1 little pile of blocks for a quilt) and a pile of fabrics with plans...

  144. 13, last count. but I may not finish all of them. I've learned the technique, and am not that excited about some of the projects. But then what do I do with them? Re-purpose? Clearly, I need more new fabric to play with.
