A zillion and twelve 2.5" squares later, I started playing around with the layout on my design wall, and I'm in love. This project is so much fun to work on. I found myself wanting to do a little happy dance when it suddenly stopped looking like a bunch of squares and started looking like a minion.
Now I just have to start sewing these rows together and keep the munchkin out of my sewing room in the meantime. Wish me luck! Happy Monday to you :)

I have seen a lot of those Pinterest goodies, and I've faithfully pinned them! This is more of a just-because quilt, no real holiday or birthday that I'm sewing it around!

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say, I had a friend recommend laying a project out on a flannel-backed vinyl tablecloth. The flannel grabs the pieces and keeps them from moving, but you can fold it up and hide it when school's not in session. It really works for me!

DeleteAs an English Granny to a three year old granddaughter, I am at a loss. What is a minion, please? To me a minion is an underling but presumably a minion is now a tv character, a new Bob the Builder perhaps?
ReplyDeleteYou've got the right idea - these minions are definitely underlings, in the movies "Despicable Me" and "Despicable Me 2" - they're the adorable little henchmen of the main character, Gru, and they have their own hilarious language. Think Oompa Loompas but way cuter and less creepy!

ReplyDeleteThe minion quilt is amazing. I was talking with several of my non-quilting friends and showed them this quilt and they LOVED it. From one designer to another, you need to pattern that... YOU MUST. Even if it's free on the site... I don't think you would get into trouble for that. Good Job!
