I'm pleased to tell you that I managed to finish up my third block for my new Juki cover yesterday, and it might be my favorite of the three. All three of these blocks come from the Lucky Stars BOM club, and the one in the center is next month's block, which just happens to be one of my favorites in the whole series.
The problem is that now I have to commit to a background fabric for my cover. I'm postively torn, I just can't seem to decide...so would you please tell me which background is your favorite? Maybe some advice will help me make a choice! Please tell me which letter is your fave :)
A - Rk Quilter's Linen in Azure, B - Essex Yarn Dyed in Black, C - Architextures Crosshatch in Black, and D - Mama Said Sew Sewing Guide in Concrete
Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for your help!
I think I like B. I think it would allow your great blocks to stand out. All good choices, though. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
ReplyDeletepersonally I like C the best because the stars pop off but I could easily see some corner stones or borders in A. and an outer boarder of D. Love your blocks -- Esp the one in the middle -- it really pops off that mostly white fabric.
ReplyDeleteI think B because it will give a bit more weight to the cover and it doesn't detract from the blocks.
ReplyDeleteOoh pretty. I'm really drawn to option D
ReplyDeleteOoh pretty. I'm really drawn to option D but I also love B I think either would work great
ReplyDeleteI think I like C best! love that Crosshatch
ReplyDeleteI too think that Architextures Crosshatch in Black is the best looking background, makes those stars pop and it doesn;t compete with any of it. Jane
ReplyDeleteI vote B. Simple is good :)
ReplyDeleteLove them all but I think B
ReplyDeleteI like C best. It just pops without being overpowering.
ReplyDeleteI like A and C, maybe a border with A.
ReplyDeletei vote for C!
ReplyDeleteI like C best also but then again, I'm partial to Architextures!
ReplyDeleteB....I love anything with Essex Linen!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, which Juki do you have? I just ordered one, and I'm so excited! And your cover is going to be exquisite.
ReplyDeleteSeems like I'm the odd one out... I like A. But that may be just because it goes so well with your March block.
ReplyDeleteI vote B, with a bit of A in there, too :)
ReplyDeleteOh, tough one! I'd go with the Essex... but that blue is really fun!
ReplyDeleteI really love B!
ReplyDeleteI'm truly digging all of them, but I think C or A depending if you need something to liven up the room. That Architextures is the bomb, though. If I can't score some at QuiltCon, I'll be getting some online ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE D!!!! The dark background and the text is really calling to me. And I just adore the newsprint background that you used on your third block - very effective with the yellow.
ReplyDeletei like how the blocks pop against A. a close second is B. :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot quite decide, too. If you look for colour the first choice will be perfect. If you wanted the stars to stand out more I'd choose B (D follows close).
ReplyDeleteI like A. But I always gravitate towards the brightest color. :D
ReplyDeleteCCCCCCC or B! x
ReplyDeleteI love A. Ithink it makes the stars pop.
ReplyDeleteC. Crosshatch all the way!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is D, closely followed by B. Good luck with your choice, but I'm sure any I'd them will look great with your gorgeous blocks!
ReplyDeleteI like C - its not that I don't like the others but I think the text in the D will compete with the text in your blocks and make it less noticeable and A might be great for an accent but it might serve to wash out some of the vibrant colours in your blocks.
ReplyDeleteA or B I like the way that the solid sashing gives the eye a place to rest between blocks.
ReplyDeleteI would personally choose the least busy fabric, let the stars be the stars of the cover. :D ~ Tabatha at BendingPIns.com ~
ReplyDeleteD. Loved it as soon as I saw it!
ReplyDeleteA all the way
ReplyDeleteI like A the best because it looks like a solid color. I think the others are too busy and too dark for the background. They would be fine for the binding.
ReplyDeleteB - then your blocks will stand out, but seriously go for the one you love.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright happy Azure of A but love C also- Flip a coin!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is C,but I can see A looking fab too!
ReplyDeleteI love D - especially because it is sewing inspired, but I do also think A would look bright and cheery.
ReplyDeleteLinda F.
C allows the blocks to pop, but still holds its ground!
ReplyDeleteI love C! It enhances the blocks without taking away from them.
ReplyDeleteI choose C.
ReplyDeleteThey are all good choices but I would favor a background of B, with A or D as an outer boarder. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteLove it...can't wait to see the next one. Your colors are fabulous once again.
ReplyDeleteI like C or D ~ and I agree with Sonya ~ either one would not take away from the blocks.
ReplyDeleteI like C choice, with scrappy sash or border....
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!

It is amusing to read the other comments -- seems like all are liked by someone. I don't know how you are going to decide:) To add to the mix, I like B and C -- think I like B the best. I guess you will need to just pick the one that YOU like the best:) Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteB!
ReplyDeleteI like A. Pop it!
ReplyDeleteI like B!
ReplyDeleteIf it were mine, absolutely choose D but that sings to me ..... Good luck pickings,
ReplyDeleteIf it were mine, absolutely choose D but that sings to me ..... Good luck pickings,
ReplyDeleteA. It's bright and cheerful and happy.
ReplyDeleteB, It leaves the blocks more as the focal point and helps you to notice them for the beauty of what they are. Some of the other backgrounds such as D can distract from the other text fabrics you picked (in my opinion). Beautiful stars and whatever you choose I'm sure will be spectacular.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is "C" so it doesn't clash.

ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely choices. It appears three of the prints are a charcoal/black color. I'd find one more, make each side (assuming this is a four sided cover) a different charcoal print and use the blue (are the blocks going on the top of the cover?) as sashing around the blocks to set them apart from the charcoal prints and then maybe a small blue stripe around the whole thing 3-4 inches from the bottom. Oh it's so lovely in my head, but I am probably not making sense. Sorry... not very helpful huh? ;o) I'd choose C or D around a thin sashing of A. You really can't go wrong! Good luck, can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteI think "A" pops the block out the most. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteC! It makes the blocks stand out way more!
