WiP Wednesday: The one with lots of deadlines

Lots of deadlines are creeping up on me all of sudden, it seems. Something about it all of a sudden being June, when I've committed to finish a lot of projects, I suppose, but no worries, I've got a plan. I had a good bit of time this weekend to tackle some sewing, so I made a good bit of progress on several things, including one project I completely finished.  Here's what I'm working on at the moment...

EZ Dresden project - Done! I wrapped up this project on the couch the other night, and I cannot wait to share it with you all! Soon, I promise :)  For now, here's a sneak peek to tide you over.

Zakka Style project - I attempted a dry run for my Zakka project this week, attempting to make some pouches for the munchkin's two teachers. I misread part of the pattern, and wound up having to make it work, so I'll be making another pouch for my Zakka post next week, but in the end, I'm happy with how these turned out, and I'm hoping that the teachers will love them! I'm proud that I finally made some EPP hexagons, after wanting to for so very long. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! Now I get to make five more for my next attempt at the pouch, need to pick some fabrics for those today.

New quilt project - I started trying to pull some fabrics together this weekend, just for fun, and as I attempted to take some photos, my husband thought it would be funny to hop into the picture. This is what you get for hopping in, honey, I now have to use the photo!! I'm really like this stack, now I just need to think of what to do with it...

Patchwork Wheel scrap quilt - I love working on this quilt. I chopped up some scraps into HSTs and squares for these blocks this weekend and managed to stitch up two entire blocks as well and lay out another. I've still got quite a few scrap buckets to dig through for this quilt, too, so there's definitely no shortage of scraps for this one!

Local MQG Guild - And yes, because I would love to have some local sewing friends, I am working on launching (or relaunching, I suppose) the Tampa Modern Quilt Guild. If you're in the Tampa area, or have a sewing friend or relative who is, please send them over to our Facebook page! Our first meeting is later this month, and I'm really excited about it :)

What are you working on this week? Write it up and share it over at Freshly Pieced, and see what everyone else is up to this week!

  3. Someone gave me the info about the Modern Quilt Guild trying to relaunch so I applied to join the group. I'm in a larger guild in Tampa but I think I'd rather move to a smaller guild. Hope it gets off the ground this time, I heard bad things about the last one.
