Yep, it's the rainbow one! My block, believe it or not, is a foundation paper pieced block, using an assortment of my scraps.
It's called Rubik's Star, and it's a really fun, versatile block. Take a look at a few layout ideas for it, just to give you an idea of the fun you can have with it...

I don't save my salvages, I just throw them away, I have seen a few projects done with them and they look great , but it is just not my style of project, happy sewing to all
ReplyDeleteI give them to a friend who makes clothes for herself.
ReplyDeleteI save them and make small projects - pincushions etc. I have also used them as "ribbon" for gift wrapping :) I love your block and enjoy reading your blog. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI am still saving them for a future project TBD! Sorry I discarded them for so many years!
ReplyDeleteOnly just started saving them. Looking forward to a project.
ReplyDeleteBefore I started saving them for a friend, I used to make a ball of them and use them to tie up stuff. They're very strong and don't stretch. Now they go into a bag that I will give to Janet. I like your block, even though I don't much like paper piecing. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being in the book and and great block! I just recently started saving salvages and use them to tie things. I want to use all of the fabric from a piece in regular projects, so my salvages end up not having very much color to them. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI've been saving me Selvages for a little while now, but haven't decided yet what I want to do with them.
ReplyDeleteauntie.clark@gmail.com
I don't have many selvages saved yet, not sure what I want to do with them. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI cut the selvages off of my fabric with no wasted fabric that is usable. I do enjoy seeing what others do with their selvages...lot's of fun stuff out there but not for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful block! I have been saving selvages in a bag for awhile now. Someday I intend to make something with them... Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm just saving mine now waiting for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI toss it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done anything with my selvages so far other than hoard them!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I use my selvages for wrapping presents.
ReplyDeleteI throw the selvedges away
ReplyDeleteI don't save mine, but I enjoy seeing the creative results from those who do!
ReplyDeleteI love your Rubik's block. I am planning my Red Zinger selvage project now. There are several selvage projects I have that I really like. I'm looking forward to starting this project.
ReplyDeleteI don't save mine. I don't have enough space to store all that extra, plus I would probably never get around to making something with them.
ReplyDeletei have started saving them since i have seen all the creative ways to use them. it is great to see that no part of fabric is wasted. love your block, it is so creative! babscorbitt@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to save all mine in a jar. I hope to have enough to use in a block some time.
ReplyDeleteI love your block and congrats for being on the cover. I save my selvage ends but not for me. I have a friends that uses them. She has made some really cute items with them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win.
thim3@hotmail.com
It cut off every usable part of the print and then throw the rest away. But now that I see others use them as gift ties, maybe I will save a few!
ReplyDeleteI have been keeping my selvages, in hopes of making something with them some day. Don't have a lot yet, but there is always more fabric to buy!
ReplyDeleteI throw out mine but it's interesting to see what others make with theirs.
ReplyDeleteI guess I will not be throwing away my selvages anymore, lol...
ReplyDeleteI have been tossing my selvedges but I decided to start keeping them in a jar and if I don't use them I will be giving them to someone who does.
ReplyDeleteI've thrown out quite a number of them, but I have started keeping a collection.
ReplyDeleteI don't save them...I have way too many scraps to use up! Thanks for giveaway & a great block!
ReplyDeleteOh I so love this block! Scraps and paper piecing. What a winning combo!
ReplyDeleteI toss my selvages.
ReplyDeleteI am currently saving them to hopefully one day make something spectacular! LOL. I love all your designs. Your blog is on my favorites list. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI save my selvages - I cut extra fabric so I have some color with the white. I have been saving them for a few years, and one of these days will find the perfect project for them! Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteI am currently saving my selvedges for a string block project. I love the look of them! Love your block, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI've saved them because it seems to do but I doubt I'd make a selvage quilt - I figure I can always give them to someone else who will love them and use them.
ReplyDeleteI just throw them out.
ReplyDeleteDon't judge me, but I don't save selvedges. Your block is lovely, especially in the Ansonia prints.
ReplyDeleteDianne
I haven't done anything with my selvages. But, seeing all the cool things people do, I'm staring to save them for some eventual something!
ReplyDeleteI am saving them for an undetermined project! I did see a really cute pair of tennis shoes covered in selvedges....
ReplyDeleteWell, I throw them out. Maybe I should duck and run for that answer!
ReplyDeleteI'm very uncertain about selvages--I recently started saving them more diligently, but I also don't really care about them, so I wonder why I do it. belopminata@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI cut them off and drop them into whatever dog bed is open and waiting for scraps of fabric, batting, or used dryer sheets. Then I sew them up and take them to the SPCA Thrift Store, where they sell them for a couple of dollars. Someone's pet gets a new bed, SPCA gets more funds, my fabric continues to live on.
ReplyDeleteI use (some of) my selvages to stake my tomato plants in the garden! Love your block!
ReplyDeleteI don't save my selvages. I don't have a ton of time to quilt/sew, so the selvages are not of high importance to me (at least not currently).
ReplyDeleteI save them for a friend...
ReplyDeleteI'm saving them to make a tote and possibly a string quilt. I saw a quilt someone made and I fell in love with it. Great block, I love all of the layouts. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the magazine. Congratulations on making the cover.
ReplyDeleteI am wild and frivolous ..... I throw them away! Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm collecting them right now for that elusive project that requires them... Maybe a purse!
ReplyDeleteOver the years I have saved and used selvages on little zipper bags for cosmetics, hot pot pads, and squares for charity quilts.
ReplyDeleteI picked out your block immediately. It just screamed "Don't Call Me Betsy".
ReplyDeleteSo. um. I do nothing with my selvedges, they go straight in the trash. Although I read something recently that a local quilting guild is saving all the scraps and filling dog beds with them for the local shelter. I think I may start saving!
ReplyDeleteMy selvages go in a bag to be donated for dog bed fillings for a local shelter.
ReplyDeleteI toss mine, I already have strings and strips and squares I don't have space for anymore containers
ReplyDeleteI save a lot of fabric scraps but now I feel guilty throwing selvedges away. Maybe they are worth saving also.
ReplyDeleteCongrats "Cover Girl"!! My selvages and other snippits get donated for dog bed stuffing. Thanks so much for the chance to win! :) Debby E

I've been saving selvages for you. Maybe one of these days I'll remember to actually give them to you!
ReplyDelete:) Kara
I have reused some of the to tie up packages and rolls of fabric for storage-I have limited space so saving them is not a priority right now.
ReplyDeleteI love star patterns and would like to make yours. I give Selfridges away at my guild for stuffing dog pillows.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving them. I may make zippered bags out of them.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to see your name and block in print!
ReplyDeleteAs a new quilter, I am really a fan of paper piecing. Makes complex blocks so much easier. I have kept my selvedges because of various blog posts saying they regret not doing so from the beginning. I don't have too many yet but hope to know what to do with them by the time I amass a pile. Thanks for the opportunity! notwendy gmail
ReplyDeleteI usually save them for a friend who makes totes and pillows with them. i find them hard to work with.
ReplyDeleteI throw them away! I have saved one or two, but those are the fabrics with cute little things instead of the round dots of color.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done a thing with selvages yet, except save them!!! They have can into my scrap bins with all the rest
ReplyDeleteSo far I've just been saving them. I'll probably start out with something small--I like the zippered bag idea.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I use them to tie up rolls or bundles of fabric. I've seen some people who have sewed them into a new piece of fabric, might do that some day. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteFirst ones I used for key chains. Have crocheted some into rugs and bags. Also incorporated into block designs. They work great for "book" titles.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun tour and thank you for entering my name in the drawing. I have to say they end up in the waste basket , but I don't cut them off until I'm ready to use that part of the fabric.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving my selvages to make a string quilt that I saw in a magazine awhile ago. I love your block and its kaleidoscope effect, Congratulations of making the cover with your block and name.
ReplyDeletecongrats, a wonderful block. Right now I am just saving them. I am thinking of maybe a pincushion and a small pocket purse for when I geo-caching with my husband.
ReplyDeleteI usually cut them up into very tiny strips for the birds (they build nests with them).
ReplyDeletePS Congratulations!!
Uh, I throw them away.
ReplyDeleteI have never saved selvages but now that I've seen lots of cute projects made with them I wonder if I've thrown away lots of treasures!
ReplyDeleteI don't save them... yet. I met a lady yesterday who saves ALL scraps and slivers and brings them to another lady who uses them to stuff heart pillows for people recovering from open heart surgery to hug. Even non-sewers are now hugging on fabric! :)
ReplyDeleteI share all my selvages with a friend who makes various items. They are just too small for me to store. Plus it makes my friend really happy when I show up with a bag of them!
ReplyDeleteI have begun saving my selvages, so I don't have a whole lot, but you just never know what could come in handy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats for making it in the magazine and to boot on the cover!! What a striking block! Depending on the different colors it really can have a 3-D look to it, very cool. It does look a little intimidating to me tho. I have been saving selvages but have not done anything with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm still new to quilting so I hadn't thought to save my selvages....not sure what I would make with them
ReplyDeleteI save all my selvedges - but it's slow going!
ReplyDeleteI want to make a quilt eventually!
Congrats on being chosen for a block in the magazine. I love the block. The colors are wonderful. I do not do anything with my selvages, but I have seen lots of projects for them. I just do not have time to be able to work on those, and I think that they would drive me crazy because they can be very small, I think that is why I do not do string quilts either, but that is just me.
ReplyDeleteI usually use my selvages to tie rolls of fabric and scraps
ReplyDeleteNo selvage saving for me. I'm not a scrap saver. Love your block!! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI have just started saving my selvages. I see so many quilty projects using them. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
ReplyDeleteI save them if I remember! Try to trim off with 1/2" extra and throw into scrap bin. Thx for wonderful block and chance to win mag.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I haven't done anything with them. The thing I've seen that I like best so far are tote bags or baskets.
ReplyDeleteI am ashamed to say that i discard them
ReplyDeleteI just toss them, but every time I see a cute selvage project, I wish I'd kept them. :) Congrats on the cover and great block!
ReplyDeleteI don't save them at all.
ReplyDeleteAs a new quilter I don't have very many selvages saved yet. I am saving them to make something...just don't know what. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI've made one selvage project, and I have another in the works. I've got a big tub of them saved.
ReplyDeleteI don't keep them. I see the various selvage projects, and they all look so wonderful! But the majority of what I work wirh are sheets and other thrift store finds. Plus, it's just not my style.
ReplyDeleteNot into selvages. If there's is writing on them, I toss it. If it's pretty fabric on both sides, I save it for use like ribbon :-)
ReplyDeleteNever got the itch to create something with selvages. Some of the gals in our guide were making selvage projects so take the selvages to them. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have the most wonderful bag from a gal in Australia and it is all made of salvages and I just love it. But I have to say that I usually just cut through mine...and think I should save those and make another wonderful bag to give to my daughter-in-law as a gift...but it is just a thought, as I have to plan that ahead of my quilting. Thank you so much for your foundation pieced block...that is something I love to do and will try yours when I get 100 Blocks. Love your colors.
ReplyDeleteI take my selvages to a couple of members of my local quilt guild. They make lovely projects out of them. I have other things I save and have no idea if I'll ever get to them, so I figured I didn't need another addiction! :-) Congratulations on making it into the publication and thank you for sponsoring the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI use selvages a lot, I think it encourages creativity, and it takes you back to the origins of quiltmaking.
ReplyDeleteI use some on my selvages to make the "bow" on the gifted quilt.
ReplyDeletei throw most of them out, if they are cute enough i might use them to thread through a zipper pull on pouches/bags
ReplyDeleteI throw my selvages away. \i don't have enough quilters fabric to have enough printed selvages to save.
ReplyDeletethelady at hotmail,com
I have recently started saving my selvages with the thought to add them to a Bonnie Hunter "Crumb" Quilt. I want to use all my quilting notions themed and sewing themed fabrics in the quilt. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't make enough quilts to really accumulate many selvages, so I just toss the ones I cut off. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI save all my selvages, too. I saw a great quilt yesterday using a Rob Peter to Pay Paul block. The pie pieces were strip pieced using colored fabric and the crusts were salvages. The effect was colorful circles on a sea of white.
ReplyDeleteThere is a basket of salvages at my local quilt shop, where people swap salvages. I donate my salvages to them.

I save every little scrap but the selvages
ReplyDeleteUntil about a year ago when selvedge projects became the rage, I just threw them out. But now I save them.
ReplyDeleteI save them all! Just in case of course....:)
ReplyDeleteI always have good intentions of making something from selvages but they always end up in the garbage!
ReplyDeleteI usually cut off my selveges as I go and toss them.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I save them in a bag! I am not sure what I will do with them, but I know it will be something fun!
ReplyDeleteI save them but I'm not sure what I will use them for just yet
ReplyDeleteHi!!!! Very pretty block!!!! I am saving them for something someday!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't save them. They go in the scrap sack for cat and dog beds.
ReplyDeleteI have been saving mine after seeing so many wonderful projects using them. So far I have about a gallon size bag size, but it can hold much more.
ReplyDeleteI toss mine as well, but I recently read about someone using them for stuffing in different projects.
ReplyDeleteI am bad, I toss mine but I love what I see others doing with them. I started collecting them for a friend and sent those off, so someone else can enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I had always thrown mine away, but I am thinking about starting to save mine now.
ReplyDeleteHELLO, oh I have a giant clear decanter filled with them>they are so pretty to look at! One day I make a really neat market tote! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletemsstitcher1214@gmail.com
THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY!
ReplyDeleteJUST WANTED TO SAY CONGRATS ON YOUR BLOCK+I LOOK FORWARD TO DOING IT SOMETIME ♥
msstitcher1214@gmail.com
I don't use my selvages but I save them for a friend that uses them!
ReplyDeleteI have been saving my selvages but don't have enough to do anything with- yet.
ReplyDeleteI save my selvages but the right idea for this .I think I make a bag with this selvages
ReplyDeleteI've used them as garden ties. My raffle copter email starts with ll_gee
ReplyDeleteI have saved some, but have not enough to do a project yet. I am inspired by all the lovely selvage projects I see. Love your rainbow block.
ReplyDeleteI generally thrown them away - or if they are large enough, use them for tomato ties.
ReplyDeleteAll mine are diligantly saved - not sure what for yet. I now save every single scrap after reading 'sunday morning quilts' - but not been quilting that long so need a few more projects before a scrappy one!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to say that I haven't saved the selvages. But after seeing all the wonderful things people do with them, I will start saving them to make a bag.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I throw mine in a basket for use as stuffing. I'm not in the habit of cutting them off as one length. What I have saved pieces of though, at times, is the eyelashy selvage part. I can see those coming in handy for crafting. Don't know what for yet, but one day they will come in handy!
ReplyDeleteI don't save them, they end up in the trash. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI used to throw my selvages away and now I save them all. I want to start making items (mostly pin cushions and maybe small pillows and perhaps trim on aprons) for the boutique at our quilt show. Our show is every two years and it is this June and I got zero done for this year. Congrats on your publish, Elizabeth. Oh yeah. Selvages make good leaders, too.
ReplyDeleteI make pin cushions with mine..haven't saved enough or long enough to make more than that.... Can't wait to see what you are up to!
ReplyDeletePS.. LOVE the secondary little star! forgot to mention that above :D
DeleteCongratulations! Lovely block! I save my selvages. I haven't found a creative use for them, but I read somewhere about making fabric twine by twisting. I think I may try that!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the cover!!! I don't save them unless it's a fabric that I really love and then I keep them for reference.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad, I guess. I use my selvages to tie tomato plants up in my garden.
ReplyDeleteLove your block! So far I've used mainly fat quarters, pieces from consignment stores or old apparel items. Since I have arthritis I only work on smaller items so most of my backings are also pieced.
ReplyDeleteI love this block so much, I can't wait to see the magazine. I do keep all my selvages, although I always trim from the non-selvage side of the fabric, so I only have a small shoe box full (but it is starting to get pretty jammed in there). I have only made one project, and it was a box pouch. I love the technique of sewing them down to a foundation. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteLove your block. I usually keep my selvages, but don't have a clue what I will do with them.
ReplyDeleteI really don't use selvages for anything...I usually get smaller pieces so they aren't all that long. BTW, your neat block reminds me of origami.
ReplyDeleteI don't save the selvages. I do lots of scrap quilts, but the selvages just don't do anything for me.
ReplyDeleteI give my selvages to my friend as I don't use them for anything
ReplyDeleteI don't usually buy enough fabric to get a selvage but if I did I would save them. I seen a few things done with the selvage and kinda of like them. Congrats on being a Cover Girl. How cool is it that the picture is right next to your name. Love to win Vol 9. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletekatztoo at exede dot net
Though it may be scandalous, I throw them away!
ReplyDeleteI use as much as possible, I love scrappy look and will include them in target areas
ReplyDeleteI saved my selvage if it has a lot of color on it, if not I trash it. I plan to make something from them eventually :-).
ReplyDeleteSo far all I do with selvages is save them:) I haven't gotten around to making anything with them yet, but plan to some day. Ribik's Star is so original and creative, plus it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI am a selvage -saver, too! I haven't made anything yet with them, but what a shame to throw away fabric that you paid for! Waste not, want not! Your block is adorable! Lots of movement!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever saved selvages, but when i see pretty projects that other people make, I look around at all the other scraps and my giant hoard and think... I really don't have room for this. Maybe after I move into a bigger house! haha!
ReplyDeleteI throw them away.
ReplyDeleteSelvages are so pretty when used in bags & pillows.
ReplyDeleteI save them, but didnot use them yet. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI throw them away. Oops...
ReplyDeleteI've been saving selvages for quite a while. I have a big basket full of them. I'd love some ideas to use them. Congratulations on your block being selected and for making the cover. Thanks for the great giveaway.
DeleteI love your block! I like the way it looks in a quilt. I don't save my selvages as I have too much other stuff to work on. I don't seem to get much accomplished though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block...and a great name for it! Congrats on having your name on the front cover! Way to go!! I have to confess...selvedges go in the circular file...
ReplyDeleteI use them to stuff loose pillows that become bedding for shelter dogs and cats.
ReplyDeleteI've always just tossed them in the trash. However, I now look at them more closely. Will this lead to another obsession?
ReplyDeleteI've just started saving my selvedges. I may cover a canvas bag with them when I've collected enough.
ReplyDeletetstanulis@mac.com
I have just started saving my little scraps to use for stuffing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done much with the selvedges up to now, but the more I see what other's do with them, the more I think that I ought to save them. This is a great block-one that looks really easy to do. Thanks for creating it.
ReplyDeleteGreat block - I love foundation paper piecing. I don't cut my selvages into usable strings so I'm not saving them. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI cut my selvages into random length strip and put outside for birds to use for their nests.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done anything yet because I have only been saving them for a little over a year. We moved from Illinois to Alabama last June. Our new house has a wonderful covered patio, and I want to get comfortable seating to make an outdoor living room. I think I want the cushions to be grey, and then I can decorate with pillows. I thought I would make one pillow using the selvedges. I also saw an idea for a bag made from selvedges that I liked. How wide do you cut your selvedges. I am afraid that I may not have cut mine wide enough. I guess it depends on how much you want the color of the fabric to show.
ReplyDeleteI have started saving my selvages because I have seen so many fantastic projects using them. I don't have very many yet, but I am hoping next year to do something with them.
ReplyDeleteI 've saved most of my selvages with the hope of someday using them. There are so many creative ideas out there, I'm not sure which project to choose!
ReplyDeleteI am still collecting my selvages :) I love the idea of a lap quilt made with them :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't made anything yet, but I am saving them.
ReplyDeleteWell, actually, I'm not doing anything with my selvages. I didn't think I had enough but I haven't checked lately. I should look at it and maybe I do have enough. I would like to a seat and a back cover for my rocking chair.
ReplyDeleteI love your block and your layout ideas - it is so cute that the corners form the little star! I have been giving my salvages to my friend, but she has made so many cool things out of them that I think I should try some myself. Thank you for the chance to win a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have been saving my selvedges for making a tote , think I am almost there . Great block !
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making the cover! I save my selvages, intending to do something with then some day--nothing so far though!
ReplyDeleteI am collecting my selvages right now with the intention of doing something with them when I figure out what that is. They are taking up a lot of space on my bulletin board where I drape them over pins. Looking forward to seeing what others do with them and getting a few good ideas.
ReplyDeleteCollecting them to make a selvedge Steam Punk inspired duster coat for a Halloween costume.
ReplyDeleteThrow away my bf already thinks I'm a hoarder :)
ReplyDeleteI hoard them. Actually, I'm a little bit excessive with keeping every last single stitch of a selvage! I'll use them one day.
ReplyDeleteoops, that should be 'little bit obsessive."
ReplyDeleteI am saving the selvages to make a cute tote bag and a purse. Thanks for the nice design!!
ReplyDeletethrow mine out. I do however ever small pieces of fabric for scrap blocks
ReplyDeletepugpower63@gmail.com
I must confess, I save almost all scraps, but not the selvages.
ReplyDeleteSadly my selvedges go in the garbage! I just can't remember to leave that extra inch when I'm cutting them off. I know, shame on me! :(
ReplyDeleteI usually throw them out although I do save lots of other scraps. Your block is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI do keep my salvages but haven't made them into anything, yet. I'm going to make a block with the most colorful salvages and add them to a sampler quilt.
ReplyDeleteI save all my scraps and use them, but my selvages go in the trash. Congratulations and thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI won some and made a cassarole carrier out of them
ReplyDeleteI usually give them away or they go in the trash with small scraps.
ReplyDeleteI have recently started saving my salvages, if they are wide enough. I plan on bringing them to the annual quilt retreat I attend every spring. Thanks for the give-a-way!
ReplyDeleteI'm saving them for a bunch of scrap projects. I save them by shape/size into mini buckets.
ReplyDeleteI save all my selvages and some day I am going to make a wonderful quilt from them.
ReplyDeleteI am saving them but have no clue what I will do with them??!! In the end I'm sure that I'll probably give them away!
ReplyDeleteI have made a few little things with salvages but I'd like to make a spider web quilt using them...have you seen this quilt?
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win and Happy Sewing
I keep them on the fabric and use them in the seams, trimming down if they are fatter than 1/4". Thanks for the giveaway! sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI made a shoulder bag for my Ipad using some selvages. It's a fun bag to carry. I would definitely make another bag with selvages.
ReplyDeleteI made a shoulder bag for my Ipad using some selvages. It's a fun bag to carry. I would definitely make another bag with selvages.
ReplyDeleteI've made a few pincushions but I'm saving them now to make a tote to take my quilts to guild meetings.
ReplyDeleteI have started saving selvages lately but not sure yet what I will do with them... so I'm no help! haha Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Vol.9.
ReplyDeleteI save my selvages but don't use them. Someone out there usually requests them so I send them on! Thanks for a chance at the give-away.
ReplyDeleteMaureen

Round file them. I have enough projects with regular fabric, though I do find some selvage projects online to be cute, but not my style.
ReplyDeleteI don't save my salvages...
ReplyDeleteMy selvages go in the trash, sorry...bet it isn't what you want to read.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I have ever done with selvages is to use them to make a bowl with clothesline. You wrap thin strips of fabric around the clothesline and stitch it together, round and round. The pattern called for 1/2 inch strips, and that is how wide the selvages are, so I figured, why not? It turned out cute!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I do with selvages is to sometimes save a bit to remember the name of the fabric.
ReplyDelete
