Who doesn't love a fabric rainbow?! When
RJR Fabrics got in touch with me about being part of their blog hop to celebrate their solids collection, I had the perfect project in mind, something that required a beautiful rainbow of solids...
There's nothing like a cheery fabric rainbow to make you smile, am I right? I had a lot of fun cutting into these solids and sewing them together. I've used a lot of different solids since I've been quilting, ranging from rough fabrics that are nearly impossible to press to super smooth almost silky solids, and the
RJR Cotton Supreme Solids are a good middle grade solid - not so smooth that they're slippery but not rough and sandpaper-y either. They're quite soft and drape nicely, and they don't require loads of Best Press to get the wrinkles out. They press quite nicely and I enjoyed working them, and sewing up them up into quilt top.
I'm calling it the Rainbow Dance Party quilt, thanks to some valuable feedback from a friend. How fun is this top?! I'm really looking forward to quilting it up, using a bunch of coordinating Aurifil threads. I'm just waiting for my orange to arrive and then I'll be getting started on the quilting.
I used the following colors from
RJR's Cotton Supreme Solids collection:
49 - Chili Pepper
140 - Ochre
182 - Lemon Chiffon
249 - Sprout
251 - Anemone
331 - Pink Orchid
110 - Red Wagon
276 - Tangerine Dream
92 - Goldenrod
349 - Aloe Verde
296 - Electric Blue
286 - Ruby Slippers
34 - Black
You can find many of these colors in stock at
Pink Castle Fabrics.
Do you love a good fabric rainbow too? Then you're in luck, because
RJR is generously giving away a bundle of these fabrics to one lucky reader. All you need to do is enter the Rafflecopter giveaway below! Tell me about an all solids quilt you've sewn up, and if you haven't sewn up a solids quilt before, tell me why. This giveaway will end next Thursday, March 6th, at 11:59 PM, and a winner will be announced on Friday, March 7th.
Thanks to the wonderful folks at
RJR for providing me with the fab solids for this quilt top and for the fantastic giveaway! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend :)
a Rafflecopter giveaway
I made a rainbow ninepatch wall hanging. It is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeletei am definitely smiling at your "cheery fabric rainbow." Love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo cheery! I'm in the process of making a queen-size sampler quilt from a Kona Poseidon bundle with pops of pink, purple, and yellow. I'm loving the play between the dark and light blues and greens. I'm hoping to finish it and get it on the bed by the end of March. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy first solids quilt will be from your Lucky Stars Block of the Month 2013! I kept up with the blocks really well, but I haven't done the last 3 blocks yet (Oct, Nov, Dec.) My spring break is coming up, so I'm looking forward to finishing up those blocks, and then hopefully getting the top sewn together that week!
ReplyDeleteMy first all solid quilt was from Denyse Schmidt's second book, "Sawtooth Stripe". I absolutely love it. I am currently making an "almost solid" quilt, it's an improv version of DS's Shoeman's Puzzle (also from her second book). I say "almost" since I plan to pop in just a bit of print for interest. I hope that counts. :)
ReplyDeleteDianne
I was given a whole load of rainbow solids and have been looking for a pattern that would suit this one fits the bill brilliantly, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe closest to a solid colors quilt I ever made was an I spy, ABC quilt with 3 inch abc in the middle quilt and then turned on point with the square in a square (1 solid) and then turned again with another solid. All in primary colors.
ReplyDeleteI tried to enter the drawing on the thingy but did not see if it was ever taken
I am working on your Lucky Star Blocks in solids but have run out of colors.
ReplyDeleteI love working with solids just gives the quilt a very different look! Very clean looking. Right now I am working some Carol Doak blocks using solids.
ReplyDeleteNOW I want to work with all solids!!!
ReplyDeleteI have not made a quilt from all solids but would LOVE to!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first decided to learn to quilt, my very first piecing project was a jelly roll strip quilt, in rainbow solids. I couldn't decide how to finish it, so I put it aside. That was a 1 1/2 years ago, and I JUST finally quilted and bound it (last week). :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't made an all solids quilt yet, but I would love to. Your quilt is cute!
ReplyDeleteI want to enter, but for some reason the Rafflecoptor is saying that this contest hasn't started yet. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't made an entirely solids quilt, but really keen to do that once I've finished my low volume phase!! Love the idea at the top of a solids nine patch...
ReplyDeleteI've made one quilt in all solids, the Summer Sampler Series with Freshly Pieced and Fresh Lemon Quilts. Its the quilt that everyone loves, so I think I should tackle another solids quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWorking on a solids quilt now and I'll be quilting it this weekend...
ReplyDeleteHello, no I have not done an all solids quilt; think I'd like to though. I do baby charity quilts and I see both pastels and brights looking really neat! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletecobaltt16@yahoo.com
I made an all solid quilt in lavender and light blue for my daughter. The pattern was from a book by Natalia Bonner. It was one of my hardest because the quilting really shows up on solid fabrics. It would be good to try again now that my FMQ skills are a little bit better. Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeletelove your quilt! I did an all solids cross quilt that I was really happy with!
ReplyDeleteThe Rafflecopter is still saying it starts "soon" but I'm working on two different quilts right now made entirely from solids. They'll be my first solid-only quilts!
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know there was a problem with the Rafflecopter setup!! It's all fixed now :)
DeleteHave not yet used only solids in a quilt,, love them though.
ReplyDeleteI love working with solids. They really let the quilt design shine. I've been working on a Storm at Sea quilt for quite awhile now. I've done about a million posts on it, but this one shows it the most finished as of today: http://sewinsomethin.blogspot.com/2014/01/alyof-snail-trail-blocks-finished.html
ReplyDeletep.s. Rafflecopter isn't working for me. It says the contest hasn't started yet...
i've done a little, and i have done Skillbuilders BOM in all solids, i love it and am planning another right now.
ReplyDeleteSolids are such an important part of my quilting, but usually I work in a subtle print or two even if a project is 95% solids for a little variety. I like crossweaves and tonal patterns for that little extra fun. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI made a king size quilt using 9" solid squares in 4 different shades of tan. Then I hand quilted it (whole cloth style). A lot of work.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on an all solids quilt right now. It's an EPP Jeweled Stars quilt. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI just started an all solid modern quilt. My usual is traditional civil war. Expanding my horizons like your rainbow quilt. Learning and thanks for inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI do like to use solids but have yet to make a quilt in all solids. If I win the bundle I will be sure to!
ReplyDeleteI love all those colors! Right now I am working on making all of the Tula Pink blocks using solids. I also just recently finished a table runner and pillow using all solids. THEN I have solids pulled for a quilt I will be making for a Craftsy class I am taking...whew!!! I need those solids!
ReplyDeleteI've just finished a baby quilt using Northcut's over the rainbow collection- I used several solids from that line. I've also worked with a friend on a solid yellow with gray patterns in a chevron pattern.
ReplyDeleteI recently made the broken herringbone pattern with all solids. Love using solids!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of solids but haven't mustered the confidence to do a totally solid quilt. However this quilt has given me the push to go for it...now I just need to win the frabric bundle ;-)!!
ReplyDeleteI've made an all solids quilt... it actually has been published in the upcoming March/April issue of Quilty! It's called Garden Path and I really love it. It was my first solids quilt and definitely not the last.
ReplyDeleteI made an all-solids quilt with a Kona rainbow jelly roll and white as the background. The Kona was multicolored diamonds (one color in an outer ring and another color in the inner ring). It was my Bloggers' Quilt Festival entry!
ReplyDeleteIt's sew funny you ask? I saw a beautiful quilt on the cover of a magazine today made with solids and thought why haven't I made a quilt using solids? I have very few solids in the stash, that's why. Hope I win the solids bundle.
ReplyDeleteI have made a top that is using all solids. But I tend to buy prints, so that is what ends up in what I make.
ReplyDeleteI made a quilt that was black with primary red, yellow and blue. Just did a square in square. Love how it turned out!
ReplyDeleteI made a Groove quilt with all solids awhile ago. Time for another all solids quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love solid color quilts. My first one was a black and white and just really stood out. Now it's pretty much all I want to work with. Thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteI haven't sewn a solids quilt yet because I know my machine quilting skills will show! But I've done some pouches and cosmetic bags in solids, and I'm practicing the quilting!
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I made an Amish quilt. Now I've come back around to using solids. I love the contemporary look.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had a chance to do a all solid quilt before. I'm sure it would be fun to do something with all solid colors, definitely a chance in pace! :)
ReplyDeleteI've made many all solid quilts; I love the pure color play you get with them. Thanks for the chance
ReplyDeleteI made a Giant Starburst quilt from Canoe Ridge Creations with solids. I plan to make another too.
ReplyDeleteMaking my first all-solids quilt right now will the Happy Quilting QAL. It was difficult at first to stick to my solids-only commitment, but now I'm really liking how it's coming together.
ReplyDeleteI had to go back to my 'finishes' to figure out the answer to this one! I've made an argyle quilt all out of shot cottons if that counts as solids? I also made a windmill quilt from all blues as part of the MQG challenge to make a monochromatic quilt. I think I don't make a lot of all solids quilts because I just love prints so much they sneak into all of them!
ReplyDeleteI've never made a quite out of entirely solids, although I have fabric for a fun geometric quilt I plan on doing out of all solids this summer. Your beautiful rainbow quilt is the perfect inspiration to get me going on sewing again!
ReplyDeleteI made a king size quilt based on Cherri House's City Tracks pattern. I inverted the colors so the neutral (shades of grey) was the background and used shades of red and added shades of blue for the accent "tracks". It turned out beautifully. I can't wait to get back to an all solids project :).
ReplyDeleteI made an orange slices quilt with oranges and blacks.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made an all solid quilt yet, but I would like to make an all solid hexie quilt. All bright solids with white in between the flower hexies.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for an idea for a solids quilt. I like your rainbow quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have never sewn an all solids quilt but I definitely love the look. I'm fairly new to quilting and have been concentrating on UFOs lately.
ReplyDeleteI've never made a quilt in all solids colored fabrics - not yet. For me it's harder to decide on colors and the solid fabrics are not very forgiving on my far from perfect quilting!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. It reminds me of a modern twist to an old Amish quilt. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm still fairly new at quilt making, and haven't yet made a solid color quilt, but I see so many now, and they really appeal to me. I would love to win this fabric and do that :)
ReplyDeleteI just finished my first quilt top using (mostly) solids. I made an improvisational log cabin, taught by Jacquie Gering. I love how the solids shine. Love your rainbow, is there a pattern yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda new to quilting so I haven't tried my hand with all solids yet. I need to finish a doll quilt that has a bright yellow background with appliqued patchwork stars for my grand daughter. Love the bright bold colors of a rainbow!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a solid rainbow quilt right now--I should finish the top tomorrow and I'm really excited! Your quilt is such a great design!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a quilt using solids, but I made a tablerunner using all solids. Your quilt is stunning with the bright happy colors with black.
ReplyDeleteI'm very new to quilting so I haven't tried an all solids quilt yet. Although I do think its very pretty and I like the simplicity of it :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet, but I'd love to. I tend to buy more prints than solids and love using scraps.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made 1 yet, but I have created a pattern, bought the fabric, so all I'm waiting for is the time to do it.
ReplyDeleteYour rainbow quilt is gorgeous. I have played with a couple of patterns for a solids quilt, but have not been able to start it yet. This one makes me want to start one right away.
ReplyDeleteI made a quilt out of 209 separate Kona solids in 2012 - The "Eternity" Quilt - and now that it's made, I don't quite know what to do with it! It's been sitting in storage for the last eight months, and I should probably take it out and air and find out if anyone wants it for keeps...
ReplyDeleteI've made just one solids quilt - it's waiting for me to quilt it!
ReplyDeleteMy first solids quilt was following the creative genius - Malka Dubrawsky from A Stitch in Dye- and making her Fish Baby quilt. Fun to put together, and I want to make another one. So I need more solids, please.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a quilt with solids....yet. I love the look, but haven't found "the" pattern yet. Maybe I just did! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhen I started quilting, about 30 years ago, I used to make baby quilts for gifts for family and friends. I used primary solids for boys and pastel solids for girls. The effect was quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have not made an all solids quilt. In fact, I noticed I barely have any solids. I bought some White on sale at Joann's, but I plan on buying my color solids at Pink Castle. Thanks for the chance to win :)
ReplyDeleteOh I so love this quilt. It is really fabulous and so my style. I'm addicted to things in rainbow hues. I have only made one solid quilt so far. It was one with Pre-K kids artwork blocks in primary colors. It was a blast to make. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to work with solids. Winning would force me to deal with my phobia! Thanks for a chance for a cure! issaandlucy@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI have bypassed a solid quilt because there has not been one that really "popped" for me.....but WOW after seeing yours above I definitely need to make one. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI have never completed an all solid quilt before because I am afraid it will look too plain. After seeing your beautiful solid quilt, it makes me think that with the right pattern, solids can be very far from boring!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made one yet, but I am collecting solids so I can one day!
ReplyDeleteI have never made an all skid quilt before for no reason I can think of. I think I see solids as supporting fabrics rather than the star, but you have proven me wrong. :^) Beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am working on a solids quilt which will be my first one completed. It is a 3D block that if you hold it one way looks like a cube in a cube and if you flip it upside down it looks like a cube missing from a block...totally awesome!
ReplyDeleteI am new to quilting...did a few small quilts years ago...and at the time used mostly prints..now I love the look of using solids = on their own or incorporated with prints...now that I am getting back into quilting I need to start adding to my stash...would love to win!
ReplyDeleteI made a solids jelly rol quilt one time. It actually is very nice and big! My friend LOVES it too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love rainbow quilts. I haven't yet done a solid quilt, and I think the biggest reason why is color confidence. I get to the point of picking out the fabrics and my mind starts spinning, what colors go where, what colors do I need, what would look best. I think when you have a pattern it hides some mistakes, where solids are more unforgiving.
ReplyDeleteNot yet, but I'm about to make three!
ReplyDeleteI have not yet made a quilt in solids as I don't have very many solids and I worry that the solids might highlight any inaccurate work.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a solids quilt yet because I've only made three quilts. I do have one I'm thinking about, but there are two ahead of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! Love the diamonds :)
ReplyDeleteI am incorporating more & more solids into my quilts, but I haven't made an all solids quilt yet. This fabric would be a great place to start! Love the pattern, too!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever made a all solid quilt but after seeing yours I think I could do it!
ReplyDeleteMy very first quilt (2008?) was all solids. I randomly started buying fabrics without a plan, having never pieced and never even looked at a quilt pattern. I just made it up. I ended up with a gender neutral palette likely to be seen on HG TV (2 shades of brown, steel grey, ecru, chartreuse and tangerine). It's still a favorite quilt for me, but it has so many issues that are bound to come with a self taught first time quilter. But I'm a little proud of it anyway...

ReplyDeleteI have never made an all solids quilt before, I'm always so taken with pattern I never think to do just solid. One day though I'll take that step.
ReplyDeletemcsweeney.erin@gmail.com
I fell in love with quilting thru trips to the Amish country in Holmes county Ohio. My first 3 or 4 quilts had solids in them or were totally made from solids. I love using them and have an all solid quilt in the works now.
ReplyDeleteI've only used a few solids in a baby quilt. It just needed the solid for a pop of color. I don't have very many solids, so I guess that's why I don't use them very often. Your quilt has a wonderful and unusual pattern. Looking forward to seeing it quilted.
ReplyDeleteyoyopattycakes at hotmail.com
I have never made an all solids quilt - I seem to gravitate toward prints. ronniebazan at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI have not made an all solids quilt yet, although I currently have two in the works as part of my BOMsthat I joined in.
ReplyDeleteI have been quilting for three years and while I am very drawn to solids, I haven't yet made a quilt with all solids. I tend to us about 50% solids, probably because my stash includes more prints than solids, so I would love to win this collection!
ReplyDeleteI have not done a quilt with solids yet... but I have one on my list !! thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteI have not done one yet because I haven't had the fabrics. Would love to! Love the electric blue! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteYes, I made Alyssa's (Pile O Fabric) Sampler quilt from solids and I love it!
ReplyDeleteLawton_linda (at) yahoo (dot) com
I love this pattern! So simple yet colorful. No, I have not quilted with solids, but I think I must!
ReplyDeleteI've never made an all solids quilt before, mostly because none of the local stores carry a good selection and I've been reluctant to order fabrics sight unseen since the colors on my monitor never seem to match up with real life.
ReplyDeleteI just started my first all-solids quilt - a houndstooth-esque look made with Drunkards Path blocks. I'm loving how the solids create a strong graphic effect. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have made two. Interesting how we moved from one print and two solids plus background in the 70s, then to mixing prints, now for me, back to solids. I feel more in control of the value shifts when I use solids than when I have to add in consideration of values in the prints as well.
ReplyDeleteI have never made an all solid quilt before. I guess, I just never had enough solids. But, I think it is time to make one!
ReplyDeleteI am very much a beginner quilter. I am still acquiring my fabric stash so if I win I would love to make a solid color fabric quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently working on an all solids "Carpenter Star" quilt in cream, burgundy and navy. I think sometimes "Less Is More".
ReplyDeleteI haven't sewn an all solids quilt before, cos I don't have a very large stash of solids. This would help immensely.
ReplyDeleteI've never made anything with all solid cotton before, only because I don't have many solids! I love your cheerful quilt!
ReplyDeleteThe first quilt I ever made - age 13! - was made with solids. I saw a picture in a book and decided I had to make something like it. I don't think I had a pattern, and the finished article definitely lacked some finesse(!), but my daughters recently discovered it and love it, so I'm happy!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made an all solids quilt yet. I want to, but the list of things I want to make is VERY long. I'll get to it one day.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt, it's a really cute pattern. A quilt of solids is somewhere on my to do list!
ReplyDeleteI made a quilt for a twin sized bed for my oldest daughter who turns 44 this Monday out of yellow and green 4 1/2 inch squares. On each of one of the colored squares I embroidered by hand 114 little pictures that I copied out of coloring books. I can't even remember whether I embroidered on the yellow or the green squares. I chose those colors because I started it before she was born and didn't know if we were having a girl or a boy. I thought I was safe with green and yellow:) Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteI made a bowtie quilt with a five packs of charms in solids combined with black. It turned out way better than I thought it would. I definitely like working with solids!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I'd love to try these solids!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried all solids yet, and with no good reason. I'd love to give it a go.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE rainbows! Color makes me HAPPY!
ReplyDeleteI made a Rachel Griffith designs "Escapade" in blues and greens. GORGEOUS
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure what has keep me from making a solids quilt, because I know it would look stunning! Maybe apprehension? I guess a new goal for this year should be to make one!
ReplyDeleteI made a baby quilt for my husbands niece. She had found a pin on pinterest of a rainbow quilt she loved. It was only an 11x17 top, and I was unable to contact the owner, So, I graphed the pattern out and made it. Fortunately, she loved it.
ReplyDeleteHaven't made a solids quilt but I will if I win that bundle! Seriously, I do want to. It's just I have had so many other projects staring me in the face! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a solids quilt; I always love to see them. I will if I win!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a solids quilt; I always love to see them. I will if I win!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't sewn up a solids quilt yet because I don't have enough solids! I asked for some for my birthday and my daughter did come through, but I still need more.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done an all solids top yet but have done several all solids blocks for swaps. Always adding solids to my stash though.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done in all solids before, but love combining solids and prints into beautiful combinations. It would be fun to stretch out a little and try one in all solids.
ReplyDeleteMy first quilt was a solids quilt. I made my husband a colorful chevron quilt to keep him warm when he deployed last year.
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't made a solid quilt yet. I just have so many other fabrics that I need to use. I have this one my list to do this year!
ReplyDeleteI made an all-solid quilt last year as part of a guild challenge. It has a bunch of colors and the front is sort of pixelated looking. I repeated a smaller version of the front on the back and then surrounded it with gray and more colored frames. It is now one of my all-time favorite quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of working with solids and I think it really lets a pattern shine thru.
ReplyDeleteI made an all solids quilt for the EZ Dresden challenge. Now I use solids in my quilts all the time.
ReplyDeleteBarb@Witsend
Hi: I am about to start a quilt challenge at my local quilt shop with the theme of solids. These would work well for that challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
I love solids but haven't yet made a quilt completely out of solids. Haven't found the right pattern until now. ..
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't done an all solids quilt. Probably because there are so many other quilts distracting me! I hope you're making a pattern for your quilt; it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteI started one a while back...squares inside of squares. I have 32 blocks but haven't put them together yet, and I might add plaids around them, so I would take a departure from the purist approach of all solids. I'm curious to know which fabric is softer--the cotton couture or cotton supreme?
ReplyDeleteI've never made an all-solids quilt, but I have my eye on a mini quilt that I just might start today or tomorrow. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYes I've made a rainbow quilt - fun and very happy.
ReplyDeleteI've never made a solid quilt before, I'm usually drawn to patterned fabric. However your quilt is beautiful and my wheels are turning :)
ReplyDeleteI have not made a solid color quilt because I do not have enough solid color material.
ReplyDeleteI made a wall hanging all of solids (drunkards path). Really looks great. But currently I like to mix solids and prints.
ReplyDeleteSusanne
I've made several amish-style quilts in solids. A few in brighter colors as well.
ReplyDeleteI love your rainbow quilt - the black squares are a nice addition!
ReplyDeleteMy solid quilt was with a lovely dusty-coloured jelly roll of Kona, arranged in a sort-of rainbow (the 'strip and flip' technique). I find that I really like working with solids and am planning on making at least two more solids quilts this year. They have a crispness to their edges that prints don't, and when you want that clean contrast, they're just the ticket!
i love making quilts out of all solids! I also think it's fun to do all solids but then add 1 block with a print.
ReplyDeleteDo tone-on-tone prints that "read" solid count? I find I really love the extra interest and texture the barely there print provides.
ReplyDeleteThat said, who doesn't like to try something new?
I haven't done a quilt with just solids (yet), but I've done a lot of planning, drawing and looking at fabric over the last few months to start one soon!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt and it looks like it would be pretty fast too. My favorite kind of quilt!
ReplyDeleteI've never made a totally solids quilt, but I've got an Amish pattern I'm going to try with solids.
DeleteOMG, I love, love, love your quilt. I haven’t done an all-solids quilt because since I started quilting I have been doing baby/toddler quilts for the grandkids. But the last one is being quilted this week and I am ready to quilt for me!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to make ANY quilt! I mainly sew children's clothing but I've had the "itch" for a while to try quilting and that's how I stumbled upon your blog today--glad i did! Beautiful quilt! Thanks for the chance to win also :-)
ReplyDeleteI love working with solids. I've just completed a giant starburst.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a solid color quilt mainly because I don't have much solid material in my stash. Some white, black and about a fat quarter of dark grey, hot pink, purple, lemon yellow and that's it. I would love to win these.
ReplyDeletethelady at hotmail.com
I haven't yet made an all solid color quilt but have been using more and more solids in my quilts. Maybe it is time to take the plunge!
ReplyDeleteI love using solids in my quilts, as well as making quilts with solids. They allow for visual impact while showing off free-motion quilting. Have not used RJR Supreme Cotton Solids, but would enjoy creating with them. These look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSewCalGal
www.sewcalgal.blogspot.com
Yes, I have - and loved it! Need to try RJR's solids though. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI have not tried an all solids quilt. I tend to like prints. But I have concluded that I definitely need more solids in my stash. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't made an all solid quilt, I love patterns and all available funds tend to get sucked into purchasing those!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on Vise Versa QAL that is made of solids.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda new to quilting, and haven't done a solid quilt yet. But I'm thinking...
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten to making a solids quilt yet... and I'm looking for a pattern that is something that I just have to make. :)
ReplyDeleteLast summer I participated in the Aimimg for Accuracy quilt-along - teal, fascia, orange...still haven't quilted it.
ReplyDeleteI've never made an only solids quilt, but I started sketching a mini just the other day!
ReplyDeleteI have never made a solids only quilt. The colors of RJR's solids are so deep and rich. I would love to make one with them!
ReplyDeleteI have made quilts from all solids. I belong to my local Modern Quilt Guild and our challenge last year was a 2 + 1 color challenge.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done it yet, but I have plans for a rainbow dresden quilt. It's on the list. I've just got to finish a few quilts that are in front of it first.
ReplyDelete
