It's a quiet Saturday morning at my house, and my iron's heating up, the washer is humming away, and I've already finished vacuuming for the day. The boys are out having a "boy adventure" on a local war victory ship, and I've got the house to myself for some heavy-duty cleaning and some sewing time.
I see solids...
Did you whisper that to yourself, like Haley Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense"? I did, when I started typing...but I digress...These lovelies are sitting on my ironing board, just waiting to become something wonderful for my partner in the For the Love of Solids swap. I'm looking forward to some quality time with my sewing machine this weekend! What about you? What are your weekend plans?

That is my plan for tomorrow! I can't wait to get in some sewing time. Hope you have a swell day!
ReplyDeleteI'll be cleaning today and hopefully putting primer on our concrete steps that were just patched. I'm going to try to sneak in some sewing too!
ReplyDeleteso jealous!! It is raining here- (which to me means sewing time)- although I have a houseful right now- and my 4yr olds think that they like to sit on my lap when I sew! Although I did sneak some time in the am- while everyone was still sleeping- gotta do what ya gotta do I guess!
ReplyDeletewow, good for you! that feels so good to get going and get things accomplished first thing so you can focus on more important things...like sewing! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the look of those solids! have fun!
Yummy colors and it sounds like you will have a fun day!
ReplyDeleteI would be whispering with that stack!!
ReplyDeleteMore Cathedral Windows and trying to find some batting for all my quilt tops that seem to be multiplying. Good problem, right?
Love the colors you've chosen & can't wait to see what you make with them.
ReplyDeleteAs far as what I'm doing? Oh you know, just getting ready to have this baby on Monday. ;)
So cute! I'm going to spend time with my machine now too. I love the solids you've chosen! =)
ReplyDeleteOh, those look fun! I always love to see what amazing things you swappers come up with! This morning I am online trying to get our vacation planned, but hopefully once that is done I can get some sewing time in while my husband watches the kids. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteExcited to see what you will make, love this bundle.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I am sewing, sewing, and more sewing :) Finishing up my pillow for the same swap (FTLofS), working on a charity quilt, working on my skill builder sampler block for the week, and maybe getting another bee block done for the 4 x 5 bee. ... lots of sewing :)
Oh I can't wait to see what you'll make with this. Love all those colors! I'm hoping to create a dent in my sewing to do list this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've got piles of things to work on this weekend, and for some reason the motivation has not kicked in yet...hopefully soon some quilt will get some attention!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gorgeous colours :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope to figure out what to do with my quilt I'm quilting. I ran into a road block.
ReplyDeleteThose moments were always BLISS to me: the house to myself, work = done and a project on the go!
ReplyDeleteGreat colours!
Looking forward to the finished product: what'll it be?
When I read the beginning of your post "I see solids," somehow I had the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?" rhyme in my head, so I heard, "I see solids looking at me." Then, when I got further down and read the part about the Sixth Sense, I realized how differently we were thinking about the same words! I'm not sure why I thought that was so funny! Can't wait to see your next project :)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on my Kona Solids challenge too! I just wish I had a house to myself. Love the color woman!
ReplyDeleteSo fun- hope you've had a great time with all that golden silence. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you create.
Love your post's title! Thought of the movie right off :-) Have a happy day sewing.

ReplyDeleteLove that stack of solids! I've been jealously watching this swap from the sidelines. I really hope there's a round 2
ReplyDeleteSolidly jealous. I can't get my two menfolk out of the house, it's a bloody disaster zone in here, and my brain's so cluttered from the mess I can't think to sew!
ReplyDeleteAnd yet... here I sit on blogland. Sigh.
Love the solids. No sewing, it's a weekend with all my kids and grandkids at a lake house having fun and eating smoors,
ReplyDeleteDefinitely thought of the movie when I read this title! Lovely stack - lucky you to have the house to yourself. I'm hoping for a bit of that over the next 3 weeks as I'm off work until after Labour Day (YAAAAAA!!!).
ReplyDeleteI'd skip the cleaning and jump straight to the sewing!! LOL
ReplyDeleteGorgeous solids, the colours are fab! I did my big cleanup yesterday in a frantic hurry before the kids playdate arrived so today is sewing time!! yippee!!
ReplyDeletemmmmm, solids. I'm really enjoying solids lately though I don't have nearly enough for my liking.
ReplyDeleteI worked on my solid swap today! I'm having a love/hate thing with it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to see what you make! I love the idea of solid quilts but am always sucked in by the prints!
